| The DIU
control and display unit is designed especially
for use in submarines. The compliance with the shock
resistance class A of BV 0430 (interference-free
operation under the shock load required for submarines).
In its standard version, the unit has a Pentium
processor, 64 MByte main memory and, as bulk storage,
a flash disk with up to 1 GByte. The modular design
enables the adaptation of the unit to various
project requirements.
The unit is operated via an integrated membrane
keyboard and special keys. A 10.4'' color TFT
display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels
is used as the display unit. The communications
to the system is performed via two standard serial
interfaces. Optional extensions with PCMCIA slots
allow for implementing additional interfaces (e.g.,
CAN-BUS interface etc.).
