TheMP 2000 is a real-time multiprocessor system on the basis of the VMEbus. The universal housing concept in the various versions enables the user to use various standard CPU types (Motorola MC680x0, Power PC, Sparc, Dec Alpha, Intel) and a variety of I/O interface boards in commercial or ruggedized version.

Additional components, such as transient protection, BITE (built-in-test-equipment) electronics, humidity monitoring, ventilator and temperature control and vibration damping result in a degree of ruggedization of the overall system which fulfils the requirements in the rough military environment and has proven itself in various projects (e.g., HFLaAFüSys, FAST, COBRA).
