PowerPack — short-term UPS for IT systems

Buffer battery for uninterruptible power supply

In the event of a voltage drop or total failure of the vehicle’s on-board voltage network voltage, the PowerPack from KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics guarantees an uninterrupted power supply to the connected consumers within minutes. This way, the user can properly shut down a computer system operated on the PowerPack. This means that no information is lost from running operating systems and applications.

The PowerPack from KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics is connected between the consumer and the vehicle’s on-board voltage network voltage. The PowerPack electronics automatically control and terminate the charging process as soon as the batteries’ capacity falls below a set limit.

Performance overview:

  • Buffers the interrupted on-board voltage network supply
  • Supports multiple devices
  • Protected from deep discharge
  • Integrated electronics regulate the charging process
  • Retrofittable
  • Optimised for confined spaces

The plus points

Safeguarding in case the on-board voltage network voltage malfunctions or fails

On-board voltage network

KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics ensures smooth operation on the vehicle’s electrical system through the consistent application of VG96916. This standard guarantees that the PowerPack harmonises with the power supply system, does not negatively influence the system or take damage itself.

Qualification

The PowerPack keeps out water and dust, withstands salt fog, holds up to fluctuating pressures and the extended temperature range, and reliably processes data under heavy shocks and vibrations.

EMC

An aluminium housing ensures EMC compatibility. KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics applies various civil norms and standards as well as MIL-SPECS for this purpose.

Power

Despite its compact dimensions, the PowerPack from KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics offers enough power to cover several devices simultaneously, such as the CENTURION i7 or VistaMaster.

Functions

The PowerPack from KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics is connected directly to the vehicle’s on-board voltage network voltage. Its electronics detect whether the batteries need to be charged. The PowerPack automatically starts and stops charging once the on-board voltage network voltage is within the specified limits.
