GTK BOXER and three different display developments from ATM

Specialised displays for unusual applications

Perspective and overview in all driving situations

Safe on and off-road

Recognition and reconnaissance of the local environment is a challenge below the hatch. Not only does the heightened risk situation due to asymmetric threats require reconnaissance of the environment early on, the safe movement of vehicles in public road traffic must also be ensured.

Digitised vision for road traffic

This requires highly specialised display systems with integrated video processing and video stream distribution that meet legal and tactical requirements. For this purpose, ATM developed a passive camera monitor system for a customer which now expands the driver’s field of vision without a vision block.

Fusion of different views

Rapid perception is also important for the driver off-road. The field of view must be supplemented by views in other electromagnetic spectra, especially during night-time operations. For this purpose, ATM offers intelligent display solutions for the instrument panel or sun visor that display these additional views, such as infrared or low light amplifier, and thus provide the driver with valuable information for situational awareness.

Performance overview:

  • Multispectral vision
  • Low latency
  • Fail-safe design thanks to redundant image processing
  • Increasing road traffic safety
  • Replacement for rear and side mirrors
  • Camera monitor system as per ISO 16505
FENNEK during night-time operation

The plus points

Improving rapid reaction capability

On-board voltage network

ATM ensures smooth operation on the vehicle’s electrical system through the consistent application of VG96916. This standard guarantees that the display systems harmonise with the power supply system, do not negatively influence the system or take damage themselves.

Thermal stability

The vision systems boast high thermal stability and do not require active cooling thanks to their fan-free design.

Monitoring electronics

Intelligent monitoring electronics protect the system from harmful influences by adjusting the power to the circumstances.

Qualification

The vision systems keep out water and dust, withstand salt fog, hold up to fluctuating pressures and the extended temperature range, and reliably process data under heavy shocks and vibrations.

EMC

An aluminium housing and special display design ensure EMC compatibility. ATM applies various civil norms and standards as well as MIL-SPECS for this purpose.

Video rear-view mirror

ATM applies ISO 16505 and thus meets the requirements for replacing the rear mirror and ensuring indirect vision by way of a camera monitor system.

Display

Various technological developments and design measures ensure that the information on the vision systems can be read and the display operated under any light conditions.

Security

ATM applies the necessary standard to solutions that perform critical safety functions.

Video processing

System solutions for situational awareness require video signal processing. ATM has come up with various developments to ensure this.

Control & input

ATM provides various options for control and input.

Functions

The participation of armoured wheeled and tracked vehicles in public road traffic is possible with special camera monitor systems that meet the technical requirements for replacing conventional mirrors with digital ones in accordance with ISO 16505. This passive and safety-relevant system replaces the indirect view of the rear and side mirrors. This necessitates redundant image display and continuous backtesting on a computer.
